Pollination
Kiwi: plant 1 male Tomuri for every 6–8 female vines.
Apple and cherry: keep compatible pollinizer varieties within 20–30 feet.
Spring frost
Plant ultra-early bloomers (Tsunami apricot, Double cherry) on well-drained slopes, away from frost pockets.
Late bloomers (Stanley Prune, Chandler walnut) are safer for valley bottoms.
